TXBC Conference Call April 8, 2009 Healthy People 2020- Linda Jackson, Cathy Liles and Hitesh Bakshi, will attend and represent TXBC Registration for Spring Meeting- The fee structure is as follows: Friday May 30th = $10, Saturday May 31st= $30 if both dates are attended the total is $40. Janet will send out registration flyer The fee will cover the cost of the food. We need to also have everyone book their rooms by May 16th. Spring Meeting-May 30 and 31- We will begin at one pm. We have added the following people and items to the agenda: Brian Castrucci- Stacy Ciaschini- San Antonio Breastfeeding Coalition report from their physician conference. Laurie Beck- Coastal Bend Breastfeeding Coalition-brief overview of USBC those who attended will be able to answer any specific questions during the breaks. We also have the DVD version that may be checked out through Linda Jackson. Discussion of becoming 501(c) 3- Judy was going to send out Wiki how to Janet, Laurie, and Annette and they will have the necessary information for us to discuss at the meeting. Discussed use of funding for Website update and Brand Identification. Also, if we have someone to take on the grant writing to OWH we could use that funding to have portable signage made for the local coalitions to use at outreach events, to promote TXBC and their local coalitions. Friday night we have reservations at Patsy’s Cowgirl Café for about 20 people. Please let Janet know if you plan to attend. The 31st will be the Train the Trainer for the “Business Case for Breastfeeding” it will start at 8:30 and finish at 4:30 pm. We have asked for applications to attend the Saturday training for planning purposes as well as our funding guidelines. The applications will be emailed to all those interested in attending. The reimbursement of some expenses will require a deliverable. For instance a strategic plan regarding dissemination of the information and training provided. Action Items: Judy to send out Wiki information to Janet, Laurie and Annette. Janet- will send out registration flyer Kat- will follow up on Medela donation. We still need someone to take on the Grant writing to Office of Women’s Health. Next conference call: June 10, 2008 |
