Welcome to the Texas Breastfeeding Coalition website.

The Texas Breastfeeding Coalition is a consortium of breastfeeding promotion groups, organizations that work with mothers and babies, and interested individuals from across the state.

We hope you will join us in our efforts to increase breastfeeding rates in Texas and make breastfeeding the norm for all babies born in Texas!

There is a multitude of information on this website you can use in your local community to help promote breastfeeding. Please share with us the activities you are doing in your community to promote breastfeeding so we can share this information with others. If you have a breastfeeding coalition or task force, we can link to your website or you can have a page on this website to showcase your activities.

Dr. Susan Love’s Army of Women Needs You to Help Cure Breast Cancer!

The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and the Avon Foundation have joined forces to cure breast cancer.

Their goals are to:

 1. Recruit one million healthy women of every age and ethnicity to partner with breast cancer researchers and directly participate in research that will eradicate breast cancer!

2. Challenge the scientific community to expand its current focus to include breast cancer prevention research conducted on healthy women.

Signing up online makes your name available to investigators who need women of various ages, body types, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and life-style backgrounds so that large data pools can be viewed to see if something can point to solving the mystery of this terrible disease. Nursing moms and milk samples are needed for some of the studies.

To sign up, go to:  www.armyofwomen.org
